Study design

Randomised, investigator-masked, paired-eye safety and tolerability trial in healthy participants

Eye and ocular research

Tested material

MGO Manuka Honey microemulsion eye cream (Manuka Health New Zealand), applied to one randomly assigned closed eyelid, with the fellow eye as control; a formulated eye-care preparation, not retail food honey or The 3 Beez product.

Limitations

Small, short-duration study in healthy participants. Its findings do not establish treatment efficacy in blepharitis or justify applying retail honey to the eyes.

Funding & conflicts

Not yet transcribed from the primary publication.

Applicability guardrail

Manuka Drops Limited did not conduct or sponsor this work. It did not test The 3 Beez retail product unless the original source explicitly says so. This is research context, not treatment advice.
